Origin Two is a design studio

based on the concept of dissonance and the unexpected beauty it can bring, what is born in the exact center space of these opposite forces that exist around us is what the "second origin" is: a complete original, from the team's eyes, and a shining balance of assertiveness and reach. When reflecting on a design studio originating from designers like Eva, Bárbara, and Andrea, Eva couldn't help but think about how the opposing strengths and perspectives of the team members have created some of the most exciting and original ideas they've had—and how most things in life come from something similar to balance, but closer to a shock between unlikely and opposing elements. This concept connected deeply with the team and, after roles were assigned and thorough market research was completed, the team constructed a full, working design studio based in Monterrey, Mexico.

The art vs. the brand, the new vs. the classic. The way in which modern design is shaped oftentimes falls farther into one end of these opposites, which isn't wrong, but it seemed to the team, that the best and most successful designs managed to find a perfect balance that created memorable & transcendent brands. Timelessness & lasting beauty have always connected deeply with Eva, but it is difficult to think about this in the current graphic design landscape without acknowledging that trends succeed, sell, and connect with modern consumers. And so, a vision and strategy were born —one that not only drew out the best in each team member to create a seamless workplace synergy, but was also aimed at an assertive and successful market reach.

The visuals for this project involve creation and origin in different manifestations, whether drawn from nature or scientific elements, balancing the sober, calming colors of natural landscapes or the the brighter, darker tones of science. This "second origin" remained consistent across all visuals throughout the design. The concept of creation was further implemented through the use of cinematic visuals. Vintage & modern cameras were alternated when photographing for this studio.

At Origin Two, it is believed that success and impact can best be achieved by finding as true a balance as possible between opposites. A too-trendy brand or design can't have as big of a lasting impact, and a classic brand or design cannot achieve enough immediate reach to eventually build its lasting legacy. A manifesto was born, placing this belief as the core unifying all projects to be created by this studio. It was fascinating to construct the personality and tone of voice for this brand, as those levers had to be perfectly centered, but ultimately, a brand and studio were created that fulfilled our creative vision and expectations. Original, slightly disruptive, and strategic, Origin Two is an editorial design, photography, and branding studio that was never born in Monterrey, Mexico.
